Engage Youth

Welcome to Engage Youth!

This is a comfortable place where middle and high school students can just be themselves and have fun and grow in faith that leads to action.  Come and worship on Sundays at 9:30 am in the small chapel and then head downstairs to the Engage youth room for a lesson topic that is will challenge, inspire, and strengthen you journey with God.

Engage Youth is led by Brian Schembari, Minister of Youth and Young Adults.

  • Sunday school

Engage Sunday school meets after the worship service downstairs in the small chapel in the first room on the right. The current study is called "The Black Letters of Jesus." This study focuses not only on the words of Jesus, but his ACTIONS. The lesson opens with study the of the Word directly and then the students and leaders engage in discussion about the text and the topic. All are welcome, so come any time!

  • Engage Groups

The philosophy of the youth ministry at Journey is that small groups have a powerful impact to effect change in students than any other form of ministry.  Engage meets weekly on Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:30 pm in the same room downstairs in the small chapel. This differs from Sunday morning in that it is much more of a discussion and practical application in order for us to know Christ better. This is a much more laid back atmosphere and allows for a lot of conversation about each of our lives and allows for a LOT of encouragement.  Text @bschem to 81010 to get weekly reminders and schedule changes!

Engage Philosophy

The definition of engage involves action. It means to participate or become involved in. Too often we are simply recipients when it comes to faith. We listen to sermons, podcasts, sit in Sunday school, etc… which is NOT a bad thing, but we tend to neglect the action oriented aspects of our faith (Prayer, reading scripture, service, discussion, fellowship, etc..). My prayer and goal is to encourage students to ENGAGE in their walk with Jesus.
