Engage Youth

Welcome to Engage Youth!

This is a comfortable place where middle and high school students can just be themselves, have fun and grow in faith that leads to action.  Come and worship on Sundays at 9:15 in the small chapel. The Engage class meets downstairs from 10:30-11:00 am. Each week, students will have the opportunity to explore a lesson topic that will challenge, inspire, and strengthen their journey with God.

Engage Youth is led by Brian Schembari, Minister of Youth and Young Adults.

Gatherings

  • Sunday school

Engage Sunday school meets after the worship service downstairs in the small chapel in the first room on the right. The current study is the book of Romans where we are learning to understand our salvation and to live in light of it.  The lesson opens with study the of the Word directly and then the students and leaders engage in discussion about the text and the topic. All are welcome, so come any time!

  • Engage Groups

Due to a busy, fun-packed summer, Engage groups will resume their Wednesday programming in August.

The philosophy of the youth ministry at Journey is that small groups have a powerful impact to effect change in students than any other form of ministry.  This differs from Sunday morning in that it centers on discussion and practical application in order for us to know Christ better. This is a much more laid back atmosphere and allows for a lot of conversation and encouragement.  Text @bschem to 81010 to get weekly reminders and schedule changes!

Engage Philosophy

The definition of engage involves action. It means to participate or become involved. Too often, we are simply recipients when it comes to faith. We listen to sermons, podcasts, sit in Sunday school, etc… which is NOT a bad thing, but we tend to neglect the action oriented aspects of our faith (prayer, reading Scripture, service, discussion, fellowship, etc..). The prayer and goal of this ministry is to encourage students to ENGAGE in their walk with Jesus.
